Terms of use of the rental comparison service

These terms govern your use of the website rentlasterrenas.com (the “site”), published by THERD SRL (“we” or “us”). By using the site, you accept these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site.

1. What the site is

The site is a comparison and request service for self-drive vehicle rentals (quads, cars, motorbikes, scooters and buggies) in Las Terrenas, Samaná (Dominican Republic).

We show offers from several independent rental companies, which are not necessarily our partners.
We do not publish the contact details of the listed companies: to ask for a vehicle, you send us a request and our team replies.
We are not the rental company for vehicles offered by third parties. The only exception is any vehicles that THERD SRL may offer itself: these are always clearly identified as such on the site and, in that case, we are the ones renting the vehicle to you.

2. No booking or payment on the site

The site does not allow you to book or pay online.
The “Request to book” form lets you send us a request. Only your WhatsApp number is required.
A request is not a booking: it does not commit you to anything and does not commit any rental company. Our team replies on WhatsApp to confirm the price and availability and to propose a solution.
We do not forward your request automatically to rental companies. We will only do so after informing you and with your agreement, limited to what the rental requires (see our privacy policy).

3. Prices, dates and availability

Prices shown are indicative. They come from public sources or from information provided by the rental companies themselves, and are shown with their date. They are not a quote or a firm offer.
Rental companies may change their prices and conditions at any time: an older price may have changed. If a conversion into another currency is shown, it is for guidance only.
Availability is never guaranteed, even after you send a request.
The applicable price and conditions are those confirmed to you before the rental and set out in the rental contract.
When you send a request, we keep a copy of the price and conditions displayed at that moment, for reference.

4. The rental contract

The rental contract is concluded directly between you and the rental company, or with THERD SRL when the vehicle is one of our own.
The rental conditions (deposit, insurance, required documents, payment terms, vehicle condition, etc.) are those of the contract you sign. We recommend that you read them carefully before signing.
When the vehicle belongs to another company, we are not a party to the rental contract: performance of the rental (handover, condition, insurance, deposit, return) is that company's responsibility.

5. Sponsored content

Some content may be sponsored. It is always labeled “Sponsored”.
Sponsored content never changes the order of offers when they are sorted by price.

6. Illustrations

Unless stated otherwise, vehicle images shown on the site are generic illustrations: they do not show the exact vehicle you will receive. Model, color, equipment and condition may differ.

7. Acceptable use

When using the site, you agree to:

provide truthful information and a WhatsApp number that belongs to you or that you are authorized to use;
not send abusive, repetitive or automated requests, or spam;
not extract personal data from the site, in particular with automated tools (“scraping”);
not try to bypass security measures or disrupt the operation of the site;
not use the site for unlawful purposes.

We may decline to follow up on requests that do not comply with these rules, and limit or block abusive submissions.

8. Intellectual property

The texts and illustrations on the site were created by the platform and are protected. They may not be reproduced without our permission, except where the law allows. You are welcome to share links to the site's pages.
Fonts are used under the SIL Open Font License, and icons under their respective open-source licenses.
Rental companies' names and trademarks belong to their owners; they are mentioned for information purposes only. Photos provided by rental companies, when published, belong to their owners and are used with their permission.

9. Liability

To the extent permitted by law:

We do our best to provide accurate, up-to-date information, but prices, conditions and availability depend on rental companies and public sources, and may contain errors or have changed.
We are not responsible for the performance of rental contracts concluded with other companies, or for the condition of their vehicles.
We do not guarantee that the site will operate without interruptions or errors.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability where the law does not allow it, or affects the rights you have under applicable consumer protection rules, in particular Dominican Law No. 358-05 on the protection of consumer and user rights.

10. Personal data

How we use your personal data is described in our privacy policy.

11. Changes to these terms

We may change these terms, in particular to reflect changes in the service or in the law. The terms that apply are those published on this page when you use the site; a request already sent remains governed by the terms in force on the date it was sent.

12. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Dominican Republic. This choice does not deprive you of the protection afforded to you by mandatory provisions of the law of your country of residence, where they apply.
If you have a problem, please write to us first using our contact form: we will look for an amicable solution.
Failing agreement, the dispute may be brought before the competent courts of the Dominican Republic, without prejudice to mandatory rules allowing consumers to go to the courts of their place of residence. If you are a consumer in the Dominican Republic, you may also contact Pro Consumidor, the Dominican consumer protection agency.
