How it works
Who we are
Rent Las Terrenas is an independent comparison and request platform for self-drive vehicle rental in Las Terrenas (Samaná province, Dominican Republic). It is operated by THERD SRL, a Dominican company. We are not a rental company: the site does not belong to the rental companies listed on it, and not all of them are our partners.
What we show
We bring together quad, car, motorbike, scooter and buggy offers from several local rental companies, which you can browse in the catalog. Prices come from public sources and are shown with the date they were collected. They are indicative: they are not a quote, and availability is never guaranteed.
To help you judge how current a price is:
- when a price has not been checked for 7 days, it is labeled “to reconfirm”;
- after 30 days without a check, it is no longer used to sort offers or to calculate totals.
Vehicle images are generic illustrations unless stated otherwise. Our guides explain what to check for each type of vehicle.
How totals are estimated
We only show an estimated total when the rental company's rules are explicit, for example the daily price and how days are counted. In addition:
- the deposit is shown separately and is not included in the total;
- when a fee may apply but we do not know the amount, we flag it;
- day counting can differ between rental companies (24-hour periods or calendar days, for example);
- durations are indicative;
- dates and times are based on Dominican Republic time (America/Santo_Domingo time zone).
How a request works
- Choose an offer and use the “Request to book” button, or fill in the request form. Only your WhatsApp number is required, and you do not need an account.
- Your request is received by our team, not by the rental company shown.
- We contact you on WhatsApp and check the price and availability with the rental company.
- You then decide whether to go ahead.
Nothing is forwarded automatically to rental companies. Your details are only passed on to a rental company with your agreement.
What a request is not
A request is not a confirmed booking and does not commit you to anything. No payment is made on this site.
Independence and “Sponsored” labels
Sponsored placements may be offered in the future. They will always carry a “Sponsored” label and will never change the order of offers when you sort by price.
The platform operator may also offer its own vehicles. These will always be clearly identified as offered by the platform operator.
How to report an error
If a price, condition or other detail looks wrong, let us know through the request form and mention the offer concerned. If you represent a rental company, please use the form on our business page. We will check the information and correct it if needed.
